Mumbai High Court takes MMRCL to task over night-time works for Metro 3

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited warned by The Bombay High Court on Thrusday that it It will stop all the work on the Metro 3 line between Colaba and SEEPZ, if the previous order to banning any work or auxiliary work during the night is canceled.

A bench of Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice MS Sonak said, “Do not force the work to stop, if the work is more than the duration, it will be seen seriously and appropriate action will be taken.”

The court had heard the warning on the request filed by Robin Jayasinhahi, a resident of South Mumbai, who claimed that during the night the work is in violation of noise pollution rules. The High Court had banned any activity before the night. However, Jaisinghani told the court that whenever the residents complained to the police on regular basis, the police is still working.
